About Cuyahoga Valley Land Rovers

The Cuyahoga Valley Land Rover Club is a social group for Land Rover enthusiasts, offering a vibrant community for individuals passionate about Land Rovers. Our club organizes regular events ranging from social meetups, scenic drives, off roading, and publishes a quarterly newsletter. You do not need to own a Land Rover to join. All Land Rovers models are welcome including the newest high end vehicle to heritage rovers with a well earned patina. Membership in the club is free and largely revolves around the private Facebook group page. There are three questions to join but there are no wrong answers (the questions are mainly there to minimize scammers/bots).
Origins
The Cuyahoga Valley Land Rover Club is both founded from and a sister club to the Green Oval Guild - "Ohio's Best (and Oldest) Land Rover Club". The Green Oval Guild began in 2005 and most members of CVLRC are also members of the Green Oval Guild. Why was the CVLRC brought into existence if a club already existed in Ohio? The Green Oval Guild is based near Columbus and due to scheduling conflicts, distance, and travel time, regular attendance at the Green Oval Guild events can be challenging. To better facilitate local enthusiasts interest, the CVLRC was started and centered in Northeast Ohio. The CVLRC was first envisioned in the summer of 2023 at a poorly attended event at Country Maid Ice Cream in Richfield, OH. CVLRC was subsequently brought to life as a Facebook Group on July 23, 2023.
The groups first social event was breakfast held at Fishers Cafe in Peninsula OH on Saturday August 8, 2023. This was a small gathering attended by DJ and family and Gene.
The second event was "Ride with Rovers" at Southington Offroad on Sunday September 3, 2023, attended by DJ and Gene. The Discoveries did well, although Gene's truck managed to suffer some trail damage.
The third event was the "Black Friday Run" at Southington Offroad in Garretsville, OH on Friday November 24, 2023. This event was well attended: Francisco (won the award for further's traveled), Tom (won the reminder award and best pants), Eric (won the award for leading the group), Rod (best recovery award), Gene (most resilient muffler award), Kevin (newest motor award), and DJ (no award but organized the event).
2024
The first full year was a busy and successful year for the club. There were meetups for coffee, breakfast, and dinners. A firework meetup was attempted but thwarted by schedules and new babies. The highlights of the year were the very well attended Ice Cream Social, the Summer Campout at Southington Off Road, and the Autumn Covered Bridge Tour. The CVLRC was also invited to be a social member club of the Association of North American Rover Clubs (ANARC). We also have a voice on the ANARC Steering Subcommittee. Merch was created in the form of t-shirts, stickers, coffee mugs, pens, and notebooks. We also launched a quarterly newsletter.
2025
The year started with an Irish Pub Meet and Trivia night attended in person and virtually. Check out the events sections for events throughout the remainder of the year!
